Friendly Fire: Sparring partners Chavez, Khan, Vanes aim to gun Pacquiao down

$1,000 is a lot of money wherever you take it. Well, perhaps not in America where the recession is still in effect. But still, that's a month's worth of rent at a typical suburban apartment. You can buy yourself a fresh new pair of J's, the new NBA 2k11, some boxing gear, take your girl out to a fancy restaurant then catch Jo Koy at your local Improv and still have enough change left to buy your girl a Coach purse in case you get carried away with the comedy act and say something unwittingly offensive to her in an attempt to be funny. That's like 5 minutes at a Vegas slot machine for boxing writers like Mike Marley and Oliver Suarez. Okay, I'm going long on this, but the point is, Freddie Roach's $1,000 bounty for anybody that knocks his prized ward Manny Pacquiao down during sparring pales in comparison to the distinction of actually being the first person to do it.
