Freddie Roach's new challenge: Beat Nonito Donaire Jr.

Look what we have here. In today's Top Rank Press Conference announcing the Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.-Alfonso Gomez card slated for December 4, in Anaheim, California, Top Rank chief Bob Arum said that Freddie Roach will be training Ukrainian boxer Volodymyr Sydorenko (22-2-2). Why the fuss? Well, it just happens to be that Sydorenko is facing Nonito Donaire Jr. on the said night.

Now, not to imply anything as boxing is a business and trainers are just doing their jobs but think about this for a second:

Nonito Donaire Jr. is considered to be the next big thing after Manny Pacquiao, and definitely the only person worthy to be mentioned as the most likely to carry the torch when Pacquiao leaves the sport. How will Filipino boxing fans respond knowing the man who helped create the best fighter in Philippine boxing history is about to embark on derailing it's most promising next big star?
